Heritage Pastoral Counseling Center (HPCC)
return to top of page
-
What affiliation does the Counseling Center have
with Heritage Community Church?
Heritage Pastoral Counseling Center is a component
of the Heritage Community Church Network of Community Care. The
church gives office space to HPCC to conduct professional
counseling that is based upon sound psychological theory and Christian
principles. HPCC is not a separate venture, but an
important aspect of the churches ministry to the local community.
-
Can I use my insurance?
Yes and No. Our HPCC does not bill insurance for
mental health services. However, you can request a receipt from
your therapist and submit the claim directly to the insurance company
yourself.
-
If I chose not to use my insurance, how much does
the service cost?
At the present time HPCC uses a sliding scale fee structure.
That means that each client arranges with their therapist a set amount
for the service, depending on income. If using insurance or not,
payment for services are required at each session.
-
Can the HPCC therapist prescribe medication?
No! Each therapist works with clients and their own
consulting Psychiatrist or General Physician for the management of
medication. We do not currently have a resident Psychiatrist.
-
Does HPCC offer 'specialist' in certain
areas of mental health?
Yes! HPCC therapists each have their own areas of
specialization, from Play Therapy for children to Geriatric issues.
-
Do the therapists pray with their clients?
It depends! Each client has different levels of religion or
spirituality. The HPCC therapist works with clients where
they are spiritually. Where as no particular religious doctrine
is pushed each therapist at HPCC believes that spirituality is
a core aspect of human existence.
-
For any other questions you may have that are not
addressed here please e-mail them to the HPCC Director
Amy L. Rich, or call HCC at 410-551-8500-x204.

-
What is the Memorial Marker Walk
of Honor Program?
The gift of remembrance for a family member or close
friend. A Stone Memorial Marker engraved in honor of your
loved one and placed on the Heritage Walk of Honor.
-
How does the process work?
You can pick up an application in the Narthex Information Area
at the Sanctuary Main Entrance, complete it with the required information, and return
it to the church office. The marker is then taken to the
engraver in Virginia, where they inscribe in gold the message you
have chosen. When the marker is complete it will be placed in
a permanent location on the Walk of Honor.
-
What can I have engraved on a
marker?
Below are some examples. Please be very specific of the
inscription; also note, minor editing such as appropriate
abbreviation and spacing will be made by the stonecutter as
necessary. Examples of what the inscription could read:

Thanks for your love
And support (2002) |
|
In Honor Of
Bill W. and Louise Smith
Loving Grandparents
Thanks for your love and honor |

How Much does the Memorial Marker
cost?
The total cost is $1,350.00 each marker. This covers the
cost of the marker, engraving or message, and placement on the Walk
of Honor. Additional information is available in the church office,
or by telephone at 410-551-8500-x226.
