Evangelism at HCC expresses itself in three discrete
dimensions of life (Acts 1:8)
Loving Others, our "Jerusalem" - At HCC we believe in a relational
approach to evangelism. The posture toward evangelism that
Jesus took in the Gospels was a relational one. The
only time we find him confronting was when he was when he
was confronting the religious hypocrites.
Therefore, taking
the same relational posture HCC believes the following about
evangelism:
HCC Evangelism - Loving Others
Loving Our Community, our "Judea & Samaria" - The second
dimension of evangelism at HCC is that of shining God's
light and love into our surrounding community, namely AA.
County, MD and in strategic ways; the USA. There are some
evangelistic endeavors that should be engaged as an
individual, such as personal witnessing. Yet there are
other dimensions of evangelism that could never be
accomplished by the individual Christian. These
evangelistic endeavors take groups of Christians pooling
their energy, time and resources to shine God's light of
love brighter and farther into the community and nation.
And how we do that practically
is through the following endeavors:
Loving Our Community Action Items
Cup of Cold Water
Loving our world - Beyond the
borders of our own country of America is what we at HCC
understand as the "ends of the earth" that Jesus spoke of in
Acts 1:8.
Currently HCC is in partnership with it's parent
denomination the
Church of God, Cleveland, TN &
World Class
Cities Ministries. Our present emphasis is three fold,
sponsoring a church in the slums of San Juan Puerto Rico,
digging wells in Kenya, Africa and sponsoring widows in
Kenya, Africa.
