Our Mission |
The mission of Heritage Community Church is to bring sinners into
fellowship with God, consequently moving them in the direction of increasing Christian
maturity.
This we do by equipping them to do the work of God, through the gifts given
them, while building up the church to a position of strength.
The church is preparing
Christians to be powerful witnesses in the world as Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists,
Pastors, Teachers and Missionaries.

Scripture References |
Ephesians 4 : 11 - 16
- I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation
wherewith ye are called,
- With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
- Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
- There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
- One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
- One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
- But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
- Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave
gifts unto men.
- (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts
of the earth?
- He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might
fill all things.)
- And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some,
evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
- For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of
the body of Christ:
- Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God,
unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ:
- That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with
every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in
wait to deceive;
- But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the
head, even Christ:
- From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every
joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh
increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
- This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other
Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,
- Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the
ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:
- Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all
uncleanness with greediness.
- But ye have not so learned Christ;
- If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:
- That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt
according to the deceitful lusts;
- And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
- And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true
holiness.
- Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his
neighbour: for we are
members one of another.
- Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:
- Neither give place to the devil.
- Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him
labour, working with his hands the
thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.
- Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the
use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
- And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
- Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away
from you, with all malice:
- And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for
Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

2 Timothy 2 : 15
- Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
- And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to
faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
- Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
- No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please
him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
- And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive
lawfully.
- The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits.
- Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.
- Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my
gospel:
- Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not
bound.
- Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the
salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
- It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him:
- If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:
- If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.
- Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord
that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.
- Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed,
rightly dividing the word of truth.
- But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
- And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and
Philetus;
- Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and
overthrow the faith of some.
- Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth
them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
- But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood
and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
- If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto
honour,
sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.
- Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them
that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
- But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender
strifes.
- And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach,
patient,
- In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them
repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
- And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken
captive by him at his will.

1 Corinthians 9 : 18 - 22
- Am I not an apostle? am I not free? have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? are not ye my
work in the Lord?
- If I be not an apostle unto others, yet doubtless I am to you: for the seal of mine
apostleship are ye in the Lord.
- Mine answer to them that do examine me is this,
- Have we not power to eat and to drink?
- Have we not power to lead about a sister, a wife, as well as other apostles, and as the
brethren of the Lord, and Cephas?
- Or I only and Barnabas, have not we power to forbear working?
- Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not
of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock?
- Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also?
- For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that
treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen?
- Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that
he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker
of his hope.
- If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your
carnal things?
- If others be partakers of this power over you, are not we rather? Nevertheless we have
not used this power; but suffer all things, lest we should hinder the gospel of Christ.
- Do ye not know that they which minister about holy things live of the things of the
temple? and they which wait at the altar are partakers with the altar?
- Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the
gospel.
- But I have used none of these things: neither have I written these things, that it
should be so done unto me: for it were better for me to die, than that any man should make
my glorying void.
- For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon
me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!
- For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a
dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me.
- What is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may
make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel.
- For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I
might gain the more.
- And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are
under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law;
- To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but
under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.
- To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to
all men, that I might by all means save some.
- And this I do for the gospel's sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you.
- Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run,
that ye may obtain.
- And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it
to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.
- I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:
- But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I
have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
